Professional Pet Grooming in Sutton, MA

Serving Sutton, Millbury, Worcester, and surrounding Central Massachusetts communities since 1978. Bathing, styling, and coat care for all breeds of dogs and cats, from the family that literally started with grooming.

Our roots

Grooming is where TLC began

Before the kennel, before the daycamp, before the cattery, there was a little grooming shop on Elm Street in Millbury. That's where TLC opened its doors in 1978, and grooming has been at the heart of what we do ever since. Nearly five decades later, we're still family owned and operated, and many of our groomers have been caring for local pets for decades.

Today our full grooming shop is located at our facility on Route 146 in Sutton, just minutes from Millbury and an easy drive from Worcester, Grafton, Northbridge, and the surrounding towns. We groom all breeds of dogs, and cats too, with the patience and experience that different coats and temperaments deserve.

What to expect

Care for every coat and every personality

Every pet is different, so every groom is too. Depending on your pet's breed, coat, and needs, a visit can include:

  • Bathing with coat-appropriate shampoos and conditioning
  • Brush-out, de-shedding, and dematting where the coat allows
  • Breed-standard styling or the custom cut you prefer
  • Nail trimming and paw tidy-up
  • Ear cleaning and sanitary trim
  • Gentle handling for puppies, seniors, and nervous pets
Appointment times: drop-off is between 8:00 and 9:00 AM, and pickup is between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. Need a faster turnaround? Ask about a speed groom below.
Boarding with us? Have your pet groomed during their stay and their last day of boarding is free, regardless of pickup time. Most pets are groomed on departure day so they go home fresh and clean.
Extras & add-ons

The finishing touches

Beyond the standard groom, we offer a full menu of extras to keep your pet comfortable, healthy, and smelling great. Just ask when you book:

Specialty shampoos

Coat-specific and skin-friendly formulas matched to your pet, including soothing oatmeal baths for dry, itchy, or sensitive skin.

Flea & tick treatments

Flea and tick shampoo treatments to knock out unwelcome hitchhikers, an important step for pets who love the outdoors.

De-skunking

Met the wrong end of a skunk? We've handled plenty. Our de-skunking treatment neutralizes the odor properly instead of just covering it up.

Perfumes & finishing sprays

A light, pet-safe fragrance to finish the groom, so they come home smelling as good as they look.

Bandanas & bows

The classic TLC send-off. A stylish bandana or bow to complete the look and show off that fresh groom.

Conditioning treatments

Deep conditioning for coats that need extra help with tangles, dryness, or seasonal shedding.

In a hurry?

Speed grooms & straight-throughs

With a standard grooming appointment, your pet spends the day with us: drop-off is between 8:00 and 9:00 AM, and pickup is between 4:00 and 6:00 PM.

Rather not wait until the afternoon? Ask about a speed groom (we call them straight-throughs). Your pet goes straight from arrival to finished, one groomer working start to finish, and you're welcome to wait while we work. It's a favorite for pets who do best with shorter visits, and for pet parents who'd rather make a single trip.

Speed grooms are available at an additional cost and are scheduled by appointment, so we can dedicate a groomer to your pet the whole way through. Just mention it when you book.

Pricing

Honest estimates, no surprises

It's very hard to quote a grooming price for a pet sight unseen. Pricing depends on breed, hair type, condition of the fur, size, length, and temperament. Here's how we handle it: call us for a wide estimate, and we'll give you a close estimate when we meet your dog or cat in person. We'd rather be upfront about that than surprise you at pickup.

If a coat arrives with parasites or in a condition that isn't healthy, grooming will be required before other services, for your pet's comfort and the safety of every pet in our care. We also recommend grooming for any pet boarding more than a few days.

Can't come to us?

We'll come to you

TLC also operates custom mobile Groom-in-Vans that bring the full grooming experience right to your driveway. We were one of the first in New England to do it, and we've been doing it since 1986.
