Doggie Daycare in Sutton, MA
A full day of supervised play, indoor areas, and outdoor romping areas — then a tired, happy dog at pickup. Serving Sutton, Millbury, Worcester, and the surrounding Central Massachusetts towns.
Some dogs just need a bigger day
A dog alone at home for nine hours isn't resting. They're waiting. Daycare gives them somewhere to put all that energy: room to run, other dogs to play with, and people watching over the whole thing. Most dogs come home genuinely tired, which tends to solve a surprising number of problems that show up in the evening.
We opened Doggie Daycare in 2005, nearly three decades into caring for other people's pets, and built it around the same idea that has always guided us: dogs do best when someone is paying attention. Our second floor holds three indoor areas, and outside there are open romping areas for the days the weather cooperates. Either way, daycare runs.
A day at daycare
Every daycare day includes the run of our play spaces with staff supervision throughout.
Three indoor areas
Our second floor was built for this. Rain, snow, heat, or mud, there is always somewhere dry and open for dogs to run.
Outdoor romping areas
On good days, daycare moves outside. Our outdoor space is naturally shaded, which makes a real difference in July and August.
Screened playgroups
Dogs are never put in with unfamiliar dogs without being screened first, and playgroups are monitored the whole time they're together.
Kiddie pools in summer
When it's hot, out come the pools. Most dogs love them. Heat-sensitive dogs stay inside where it's cool instead.
Concrete buildings that stay cool
All of our buildings are concrete, which holds a naturally cool temperature through the worst of the summer.
Medication administration
If your dog is on a midday dose, we'll handle it. Bring it in the labeled container with written instructions.

What your dog needs to join
Daycare has a few requirements that boarding and grooming don't. They exist because group play only works when every dog in the group is a good fit.
- Current rabies vaccination. This is Massachusetts state law — 105 CMR 330.600. Bring the certificate or a vet bill showing the expiration date; a collar tag is not proof.
- Up to date on other vaccines as recommended by your veterinarian.
- Spayed or neutered. Only spayed and neutered dogs are accepted into daycare.
- A passed screening test. Every daycare dog is screened before joining a playgroup, so we can see how your dog does with other dogs and place them well.
- No contagious illness. For the protection of every dog in daycare, we can't accept a dog with a contagious condition.
- Completed paperwork, including the behavior and handling profile so we know about any triggers, sensitivities, or history before day one.

Come in for a screening
Before your dog joins a playgroup, we screen them so we can see how they interact and match them with the right group. This is for your dog's benefit as much as everyone else's.

Daycare questions
Will my dog be put in with dogs they don't know? +
Only in a supervised, screened playgroup. Inside our buildings, the only dogs housed together are dogs from the same family who get along. Outside, dogs are only grouped when you've requested daycare or a social hour, and every dog in that group has been screened and is monitored the entire time.
What happens in bad weather? +
Daycare keeps running. That's what the indoor areas on our second floor are for. Dogs still get out regularly regardless of what's happening outside.
Is it too hot for my dog in the summer? +
Our buildings are air conditioned, and they're concrete, which stays naturally cool. Our outdoor areas are naturally shaded. On hot days dogs come inside during peak afternoon hours, and most campers get to splash in kiddie pools. If your dog is heat-sensitive — some boxers, bulldogs, and older dogs are — they'll stay inside where it's cool and only go out briefly.
Can my dog be groomed on a daycare day? +
Yes. Our grooming shop is on site, so you can combine a groom with a daycare day and make one trip instead of two. See grooming details.
Can I add a daycamp day to a boarding stay? +
Absolutely, and a lot of people do. A daycamp day during a boarding stay is $15.00, and it's a good option for high-energy dogs who'd otherwise get restless. Social hours and playtimes can be added too. See boarding details.
My dog is nervous around other dogs. Is daycare still an option? +
Tell us during the screening. Group play isn't the right fit for every dog, and we'd rather say so than push a dog into a situation they won't enjoy. Boarding with individual runs, social hours, or one-on-one playtimes may suit them better, and we're happy to talk through the options.
Can a dog be asked to leave daycare? +
It's rare, but yes. Daycare is a group setting, and our first responsibility is to every dog in the yard. When a dog is having a hard time, we work on it long before it gets to that point — moving them to a different group, shortening their day, adjusting the play schedule, giving them more quiet time, and talking with you about what we're seeing. Most of the time that's enough.
If it isn't, we'll be honest with you that daycare isn't the right fit for your dog, and TLC makes the final call. It's not a decision we make quickly or take lightly, and we'll talk it through with you rather than just hand you a note at pickup.
